Private Ski Lessons

A big question people often have when looking at booking ski school for their winter break is whether to go for Private Ski Lessons for their lesson requirements.

In this blog we will look at the positives, the negatives and most importantly, how to get the most out of your private lesson experiences.
Private lessons are often thought as an expensive luxury and as such people are sometimes reluctant to go for this option over group lessons. The reality though is that private lessons can quite often turn out to be more economical and better value for money than group lessons.

One of the biggest misconceptions about private lessons is that they are always 1 on 1, one student and the teacher. Ski Zenit offer private lessons for up to 5 people. We have a price for one person, and then a price for 2 to 5 people. By having this flexible pricing structure, people are not getting penalised financially for wanting the 1 on 1 experience or groups of friends/families can split the cost.

If you have a group of people, of a similar ability, of 2 to 5 people then a private lesson is an awesome way to fine tune your technique or blast away the cobwebs of not skiing since last winter! Depending on the number of similar level people in your party, booking private lessons can often work out cheaper than group lessons as well. It is a fantastic option for groups of friends, families and even people you have just met on holiday.

Private lessons are the best way to ensure you get the maximum flexibility and personalisation that you deserve from ski school. By having your own private instructor/coach, you can arrange for the most convenient meeting place and time. You can focus on a particular technical goal or terrain based achievement. Unlike group lessons, you do not have to commit to a full week of lessons thereby giving you more options for other activities during your holiday.

To get the most out of your private lesson experience, there are a few simple things to bear in mind. Ensure everyone is either at a similar technical level, or able to ski on the same slopes (it is possible for a good coach to be able to ensure all students are suitably challenged). Try to have a goal in mind of what you want to achieve during the lessons, obviously your instructor can help with this, but if you have an idea beforehand it can speed things along nicely. Check Trip Advisor and similar online forums for recommendations of great teachers.

Private lesson availability can be limited, particularly during high season, so we recommend booking your instructors early!
